According to the National Weather Service in Billings, a cluster of storms will track across southeastern Montana from mid-afternoon into the evening. The most intense activity is expected between 2 and 9 p.m. MDT, particularly in areas shaded dark green on the outlook map, including Broadus, Ekalaka, and Buffalo.
Localized hazards include 65 mph wind gusts, downpours capable of triggering minor flash flooding, and hail up to 1.25 inches. Billings has a 50% chance of precipitation by 3 p.m., while areas like Miles City and Sheridan face a 40–50% chance into the evening.
Residents should secure outdoor items, avoid travel during storm periods, and monitor NOAA alerts for rapid changes. Those in mobile homes or rural areas should review shelter options ahead of any warnings.
Conditions calm overnight, but more unsettled weather is possible later in the week.
