Macon, GA – Two teenagers are in custody after allegedly leading deputies on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle through Bibb County late Tuesday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies reported that a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested after a stolen Kia Soul was spotted speeding and running a red light on Pierce Avenue. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the 16-year-old driver allegedly refused to stop and accelerated to more than 120 mph.

The pursuit ended when the Kia was damaged and came to a stop. Deputies said both teens then ran into nearby woods, where they were quickly apprehended without further incident.

No injuries were reported during the chase, and the investigation remains ongoing. The names of the juveniles have not been released due to their ages.

Residents in the area reported seeing heavy police presence during the pursuit and arrest. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether additional charges will be filed.
