Macon, GA – A proactive patrol by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) led to a drug trafficking arrest Wednesday morning after deputies conducted a traffic stop on Pio Nono Avenue.
According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies initiated a stop on a Chevrolet Cruze and immediately detected the odor of marijuana. Deputies said they discovered several individually wrapped bags of marijuana packaged for individual sale inside a bookbag.
Investigators also located digital scales and other packaging materials, consistent with drug distribution, authorities said. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, where he faces trafficking charges.
The Sheriff’s Office shared photos showing seized marijuana, scales, and patrol vehicles lined along Pio Nono Avenue during the arrest.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said its S.R.T. Unit continues to conduct proactive patrols and traffic enforcement aimed at targeting drug-related activity across the county.
