Bibb County, GA – A wanted and allegedly armed suspect was taken into custody in Bibb County following a brief foot pursuit that ended in a creek bed, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Property Unit investigators working alongside the U.S. Marshals Service located the suspect on Edna Place on Wednesday. When deputies attempted to make contact, the suspect allegedly fled on foot, leading officers on a short chase before he was apprehended in a nearby creek bottom.
Law enforcement officials stated the suspect is a convicted felon who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants. During the arrest, investigators allegedly recovered a handgun from the suspect’s pocket. A second handgun was also found inside a vehicle connected to the investigation, authorities said.
While securing the property, investigators reportedly located a Ford F-150 that had been reported stolen from a business on Riverside Drive, a major commercial corridor in the Macon area. The vehicle was recovered as part of the same investigation, according to officials.
The suspect was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, where he was booked on numerous charges. Authorities did not immediately release the suspect’s name or a full list of charges, and additional details may be provided as the case progresses.
No injuries were reported during the pursuit or arrest, and officials said the incident concluded without further disturbance to nearby residents.
