Macon, GA – A commercial burglary investigation in Bibb County ended with two arrests Tuesday morning after a brief vehicle pursuit and foot chase involving a U-Haul on Interstate 75.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday after a suspicious vehicle connected to a recent burglary was spotted traveling along Gray Highway. The vehicle, described as a U-Haul Ford Econoline with an Arizona license plate, was reportedly linked to a burglary that occurred Friday, January 24, 2026, at Highland Hills Baptist Church, located at 1370 Briarcliff Road in Macon.

Authorities said the vehicle entered I-75 South toward Hardeman Avenue, where a patrol deputy attempted a traffic stop at the Hardeman Avenue exit. Investigators say the driver allegedly refused to stop, ran a red light at the intersection of Hardeman Avenue and Forsyth Street, and accelerated away.

After a brief pursuit, deputies said both occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot near Forsyth Street and Monroe Avenue. Patrol deputies apprehended both suspects without further incident. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to assist at the scene.

The suspects were identified as 37-year-old Jeffrey Gadsden Henderson of Macon and 28-year-old Tawny Cheyenne Beall of Griffin, Georgia. Authorities said Henderson was already out on bond and wanted in Bibb County for an alleged probation violation related to first-degree burglary and other charges. Beall was reportedly wanted in Monroe County for an alleged probation violation.

Henderson was charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, misdemeanor obstruction, felony theft by taking, second-degree criminal damage to property, probation violation, and first-degree burglary, according to the sheriff’s office. His bond was surrendered. Beall was later turned over to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the investigation remains active and additional charges are possible.
