Moncks Corner, SC – Berkeley County detectives arrested a suspect less than 24 hours after a deadly armed robbery at a Summerville convenience store, authorities announced Monday.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Harrison Charles Townsend of Nexton was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the fatal robbery at Myers Market, located at 503 Myers Road, Unit A, late Saturday night.

Deputies responded to the store just before 9:30 p.m. on November 15, after the store owner reported seeing a robbery in progress on his surveillance system. When officers arrived, they found one individual deceased inside the business.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kymeek T. Traylor, 20, of Summerville. Sheriff Duane Lewis described the crime as “heinous and senseless,” adding that Townsend’s alleged actions displayed “a shocking disregard for human life.”

The arrest came after what officials described as a swift, coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

The Sheriff’s Office stated the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Berkeley County detectives at 843-719-4412.
