MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a Columbia man wanted on multiple fraud-related charges tied to a series of alleged incidents at auto parts stores.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Johnny Allen Ray, 32, of Enclave Way in Columbia, is wanted for Forgery, Financial Identity Fraud, Larceny, and Breach of Trust.
Deputies say a report was first filed in August 2025 after an employee at Parks Auto Parts in Moncks Corner reported a man posing as a Stokes Chevrolet worker allegedly placed several fraudulent phone orders for vehicle parts. The suspect reportedly charged the purchases to the dealership’s account using multiple names.
Investigators determined Ray also allegedly obtained a replacement car battery under a dealership warranty and is believed to have committed similar acts at another Parks Auto Parts location in Santee, South Carolina.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Ray’s whereabouts to contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at (843) 554-1111.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
