Bentonville, AR – Arkansas State Police Investigate Officer-Involved Shooting Fatality

Bentonville, AR – A Bentonville man died following a police shooting involving a Bentonville Police Department officer on Thursday evening.

According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division, BPD officers responded to a disturbance call in the Stoneburrow neighborhood around 6 p.m. on Southwest Castlewood Street. Officer Omri-Andrew Nutt encountered the suspect, Nathaniel Mark Crabtree, on Sandrock Road and discharged his weapon, striking Crabtree. Crabtree was taken to Northwest Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Nutt, who joined BPD in January 2022, is on paid administrative leave as the ASP investigates the incident. The Benton County Prosecuting Attorney will review the case to determine the legality of the officer’s actions.
