Bedford, NH – Two people were seriously injured Tuesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier at the Bedford Toll Plaza, leading to major delays on the F.E. Everett Turnpike.

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded around 9:17 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after a gray 2023 Chrysler Pacifica veered into a concrete barrier while traveling southbound through the toll area. An adult female driver and an adult male passenger were inside the vehicle along with three dogs.

State Police said both occupants were transported to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Animal control officers from Bedford and Merrimack transported the pets from the scene, and an area veterinarian later pronounced two of the three dogs deceased. One dog survived.

Three southbound toll lanes on the Everett Turnpike were shut down for roughly two and a half hours while troopers investigated the crash and crews worked to clear the scene. Bedford police and fire, Merrimack police and fire, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted with the response.

Investigators said speed appears to be a factor, though the full cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information that may help the investigation to contact Trooper First Class Tyler Duhamel at the email provided by State Police.
