Baton Rouge, LA – A statewide search for a missing 13-year-old girl from Ascension Parish ended Wednesday after Louisiana State Police announced she was found safe, canceling a previously issued Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory.

According to the Louisiana State Police, the alert was requested earlier Wednesday afternoon by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office after the teen, Kaidyn Chevalier, had been missing since Saturday, November 8. She was last seen leaving her residence along Perkins Road in Prairieville just before 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Authorities said Chevalier is a Black female with brown eyes and black hair. She is 5’4’’ tall and weighs approximately 113 pounds. At the time she disappeared, she was last reported wearing a white Hello Kitty shirt, blue jean shorts, a pink hair bonnet and no shoes.

State Police issued the advisory at approximately 12:59 p.m. Wednesday in hopes of generating immediate statewide assistance. Only hours later, officials confirmed the juvenile had been safely located and the advisory was canceled.

Law enforcement has not released additional details about where Chevalier was found or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, but they noted that all further questions should be directed to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with additional information related to the case or who may have seen anything unusual in the Prairieville area on Saturday is encouraged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4346 or dial 911.
