Baltimore, Maryland – Cooler temperatures and gusty winds are sweeping across Maryland today after a strong cold front moved through late Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, sunshine will dominate much of the day, but northwest winds could gust between 25 and 35 mph through early this evening. High temperatures are expected to top out in the upper 50s to mid-60s across the region, with spots like Hagerstown and Frederick hovering near 60 degrees, and Baltimore and Washington D.C. reaching the mid-60s.
Windy conditions could make travel challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles along I-70, I-81, and I-95 corridors. Outdoor activities may also be impacted, as unsecured items like lawn furniture and trash bins could be blown around. Residents are urged to secure loose objects and use caution if driving in open areas.
This weather pattern brings a quiet but brisk start to the weekend as Canadian high pressure builds in later tonight. Temperatures will remain cooler than average into Saturday, with lighter winds expected by morning. Additional updates may be issued if winds remain elevated past sunset.
