Baltimore, MD – A stretch of calm, dry weather across Maryland will begin shifting by midweek as clouds increase Tuesday and rain chances rise late Wednesday. Much of the state will stay sunny and seasonably mild through Tuesday, but residents should prepare for a change in pattern by Wednesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, high pressure will keep skies mostly clear through Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s to upper 80s across the region. Mountain communities such as Hagerstown and Frostburg will remain slightly cooler, with Tuesday highs in the low 80s.

By Wednesday, expect mostly cloudy skies across areas including Baltimore, Frederick, and Washington, D.C., with a growing chance for scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from the upper 70s to mid 80s, but humidity will increase slightly ahead of the developing system.

While no severe weather is expected at this time, commuters should monitor road conditions Wednesday afternoon, especially during the evening drive. Isolated downpours could reduce visibility or slow travel.

More consistent rain could develop late week as the cooler pattern takes hold. Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware and check for updated advisories Tuesday night.
