BALTIMORE, Md. — Streets, parking lots, and waterfront businesses along parts of the Chesapeake Bay are dealing with minor flooding this morning as high tides push water levels above normal in Baltimore, Annapolis, and Havre de Grace.

According to the National Weather Service, coastal flood advisories remain in effect for southern Baltimore City and County until 8 a.m., Anne Arundel County until 9 a.m., and southeast Harford County until 11 a.m. Tides are running one to two feet above average, with water backing up onto low-lying roads and properties.

In Annapolis, water has flooded the City Dock parking lot and Compromise Street as levels reached 3.2 feet, with tides continuing near their peak. In Baltimore, flooding is occurring at the end of Thames Street in Fells Point, and water is encroaching on the promenade at the Inner Harbor. Bowleys Quarters is also seeing water in yards as levels exceed minor flood thresholds. Farther north in Havre de Grace, water is topping parts of the bulkhead at the Yacht Basin.

Drivers are urged to allow extra time this morning, avoid flooded roadways, and never drive through standing water. Property owners in flood-prone areas should move vehicles and belongings to higher ground.

Coastal flood advisories are expected to expire by late morning as tides slowly recede, but additional advisories could be issued with the next tidal cycles.
