Baltimore, Md. – Patchy fog and low clouds will clear by mid-morning across Maryland, giving way to a mix of sun and clouds and a warm, humid afternoon. While most areas will stay dry today, the National Weather Service warns that showers and an isolated thunderstorm could develop over the Blue Ridge and higher Appalachian elevations around midday, with the best storm chances across Virginia. Highs will range from the mid-80s in the mountains to the lower 90s in central Maryland and D.C.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, humidity will climb further tonight as temperatures only fall into the upper 60s and lower 70s, with low clouds and patchy fog returning to some areas.

A stronger cold front arrives Wednesday, bringing scattered thunderstorms by afternoon. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding, especially in urban or low-lying areas. Widespread rain chances linger into Wednesday night before tapering to isolated showers and storms Thursday.

Travelers should watch for rapidly changing conditions and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Additional alerts may be issued as the front moves through.
