Baltimore, Maryland – Spotty thunderstorms could disrupt afternoon and evening plans across the Baltimore-Washington region Tuesday, as warm, humid air fuels scattered showers through late tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, isolated storms are most likely north of Interstate 66 and US 48, with areas like Frederick, Westminster, and Hagerstown potentially seeing brief downpours or lightning. Highs will range from the upper 60s in western Maryland to near 78°F around Lexington Park and Charlottesville. While severe weather isn’t expected, localized gusts and heavy rain could affect late-day travel.

Cities along the I-95 corridor, including Baltimore, Washington, and Laurel, can expect highs in the low- to mid-70s, with periods of sun between showers. Commuters should be prepared for wet pavement and reduced visibility during evening rush hour. Umbrellas and extra time on the roads are advised.

Wednesday offers a break from the wet pattern, with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the low 80s in southern Maryland. But don’t put away the rain gear just yet—another round of showers and possible storms is likely Thursday.

Additional updates will be issued as thunderstorm activity develops. Stay tuned for any watches or advisories through tonight.
