Baltimore, MD – Behind a passing clipper system, the Mid-Atlantic will see breezy conditions today accompanied by abundant sunshine and seasonable temperatures, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Baltimore/Washington.

According to NWS forecasters, westerly wind gusts will reach 20 to 30 mph across the DC–Baltimore metro, with higher gusts of 30 to 40 mph possible over the Alleghenies. Despite the gusts, skies remain mostly sunny throughout the day, supporting highs in the upper 50s to low 60s regionwide. Cooler pockets in the mountains will see highs in the 40s and low 50s.

Tonight, temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s to upper 30s, depending on elevation and distance from urban centers. Winds will gradually ease after sunset, setting up a calmer and clear overnight period.

Friday continues the quiet weather pattern with partly to mostly sunny skies and lighter winds. Highs will reach the mid-40s to low 60s, similar to Thursday, with Friday night lows dipping into the 30 to 40-degree range.

Saturday brings increasing cloud cover as the next system approaches. Highs will reach the mid-50s to upper 60s, with overnight lows in the low 40s to mid-50s. Forecasters note that rain chances may develop later this weekend, though timing and amounts remain uncertain.

Overall, the next several days bring a mix of breezy, sunny, and seasonable weather before a potential shift to wetter conditions later in the weekend.

Residents across Baltimore, Washington, northern Virginia, and the Shenandoah Valley should be prepared for gusty winds today—especially those traveling in high-profile vehicles or working outdoors.
