Baltimore, MD – A soggy stretch is underway across Maryland as persistent rain and cooler-than-usual temperatures move in through Saturday night, bringing the heaviest downpours to Baltimore and surrounding areas on Friday.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, a wet weather pattern began Thursday, April 10, with scattered showers that are expected to increase overnight. The most significant rainfall will likely arrive Friday, continuing into early Saturday before tapering off by late Saturday night.
Daytime highs will remain slightly below seasonal averages, ranging from the low 50s to low 60s through Sunday. Nighttime lows could dip into the upper 30s, particularly Friday night, when temperatures may fall as low as 38°F in central Maryland. Saturday night could bring similar chills, with lows between 37–45°F.
Commuters are advised to expect slower travel during morning and evening hours, especially Friday, when rain is forecast to be widespread. Drivers should allow extra time and watch for slick roads.
Residents are encouraged to keep umbrellas and jackets handy and check for localized flooding in low-lying areas. Conditions are expected to improve by Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and highs near 63°F.
