Baltimore, Maryland – Bitter cold and blustery conditions are expected to impact Baltimore tonight into early Friday, with wind chills dropping into the teens across the city.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, sustained winds combined with cold air will drive overnight wind chill values between 13 and 17 degrees in Baltimore. Colder conditions are expected west of the city, where wind chills drop into the single digits and lower teens.

A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for portions of the region, highlighting the increased risk of cold exposure during the overnight and early morning hours. The coldest period is expected between midnight and 8 a.m. Friday, when wind chills will be at their lowest.

While no winter precipitation is expected, the combination of cold temperatures and gusty winds will create hazardous conditions for anyone spending extended time outdoors, including early commuters, transit riders, and outdoor workers.

Forecasters urge residents to bundle up with multiple layers, hats, and gloves, and limit time outdoors when possible. Pets should be brought indoors, and those sensitive to cold should take precautions.

Temperatures are expected to slowly moderate later Friday afternoon, though below-normal cold will persist into the weekend.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates and take cold safety precautions seriously during the overnight hours.
