Baltimore, MD – The National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington is warning of a sharp midweek temperature drop and windy conditions following a strong cold front expected to cross the region Wednesday afternoon, bringing blustery weather for Thanksgiving travel.
Rain is expected to continue through Tuesday and become more widespread Tuesday night, with a few rumbles of thunder possible. Behind the front, temperatures will fall from the 60s and 70s into the 30s and 40s by Thursday, with gusty northwest winds making it feel even colder.
Forecasters say Thursday will be colder and windy, with highs in the mid-20s to 30s in the mountains and 30s to low 40s elsewhere, while Friday remains chilly but less windy.
Travelers are advised to prepare for rapidly changing weather conditions, including potential flight delays and difficult driving in higher terrain as wind gusts and cold air move in.
