Baltimore, Maryland – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m. today along the I-68 corridor in western Maryland as mixed wintry precipitation continues.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, blustery conditions are expected across the region Wednesday and Thursday, with stronger winds and colder temperatures returning before a weekend warmup.

In the Alleghenies, including Garrett County near Oakland and areas along Interstate 68, mixed precipitation may create slick travel conditions through mid-afternoon. Drivers along I-68 and U.S. Route 219 should prepare for wet or slushy roadways and reduced visibility.

Farther east along Interstate 95 through Baltimore and Washington, D.C., conditions remain mainly dry but windy. High temperatures Wednesday will range from the upper 20s west to lower 50s east. Thursday brings cooler highs between 22 and 44 degrees under blustery skies.

By Friday, sunshine returns with highs climbing into the upper 40s, followed by a continued warmup Saturday with temperatures reaching the upper 30s west to mid-50s east.

Wind gusts may create crosswind concerns on elevated roadways, including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and stretches of I-70 and I-81.

Commuters, especially those traveling through mountain corridors, should monitor conditions through this afternoon as wintry precipitation tapers.
