Baltimore, MD – Cloudy skies and mild temperatures are expected across Maryland today before a cold front pushes through tonight, bringing the chance for a few showers. Temperatures this afternoon will range widely from the upper 50s to the low 70s depending on location, giving the region one more relatively warm day before cooler air arrives.

According to the US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, showers may develop late this evening as the front moves across Maryland, northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Forecasters note that rainfall amounts should remain light and scattered, with precipitation ending before daybreak Sunday.

Behind the front, sunny skies and much cooler temperatures will dominate both Sunday and Monday. Highs Sunday are expected to reach the mid-40s to mid-60s across the region, with overnight lows falling into the upper 20s to upper 30s. Winds will also increase, with breezy conditions expected much of Sunday afternoon.

Monday will follow a similar pattern: breezy, sunny, and seasonably cool. Temperatures will again range from the upper 30s to upper 50s, offering a noticeably cooler feel compared to Saturday’s highs.

Travel conditions this weekend should remain generally manageable, though early-morning wet roads Sunday may create minor slick spots. The National Weather Service encourages residents across Baltimore, Washington, northern Virginia, and central Maryland to secure lightweight outdoor items ahead of Sunday’s increasing winds.

More updates are expected as the new workweek approaches and additional pattern changes take shape mid-week.
