Maryland – Low clouds hang over Baltimore’s Inner Harbor this morning as damp air drifts inland from the Chesapeake Bay. Pavement stays wet across city streets while scattered showers develop through the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, cloudy skies dominate the region with a chance of showers increasing later today. Temperatures climb only to around 50°F, keeping conditions cool and damp across central Maryland.
Drivers along I-95, I-695, and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway may encounter slick pavement during passing showers. Light rain and drizzle can reduce visibility during heavier bursts this afternoon.
Conditions stay cloudy tonight with additional scattered showers developing late. Temperatures hold steady in the mid-40s, keeping the air cool but not cold.
Rain chances increase again Saturday as another disturbance approaches the Mid-Atlantic. Expect mostly cloudy skies and highs near 58°F. Occasional showers may slow travel across the metro region, especially along I-83 and the Jones Falls Expressway.
Showers become more likely Saturday night before tapering Sunday morning. By afternoon, partial sunshine breaks through and temperatures rise toward 68°F, offering the first real hint of spring warmth.
Early Sunday also brings the seasonal clock change. Clocks move forward one hour at 2 a.m., giving Maryland longer daylight evenings.
Even warmer air arrives early next week. Monday turns mostly sunny with highs near 69°F, and spring warmth continues building toward 74°F by Tuesday.
Meteorologists say the broader pattern points toward a warming trend across the eastern United States through midweek.
