Baltimore, MD – Residents in northern Maryland are waking up to chilly temperatures this morning as a Frost Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. EDT Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Baltimore/Washington.
The advisory covers Cecil, Northern Baltimore, and Harford Counties, where temperatures have dipped to around 35°F, allowing frost to form on exposed surfaces. Forecasters warn that unprotected plants and outdoor vegetation could be damaged or killed if not properly covered.
“Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold,” the NWS advised early Sunday. Frost is most likely in valleys and low-lying areas, where cooler air tends to settle overnight.
Conditions are expected to improve after 9 a.m., as sunshine warms the region and frost melts away. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 50s by afternoon, but another cold morning is possible later this week as clear skies persist.
