Baltimore, MD – A cool and breezy stretch of fall weather continues across Maryland, northern Virginia, and the D.C. metro area, with below-normal temperatures and gusty winds expected through the end of the week. The National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington reports that highs today will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s, while the Allegheny Mountains remain in the 40s.

Forecasters say that strong northwest winds will make it feel several degrees cooler, especially during the afternoon when gusts could reach 20 to 25 mph. A mix of sun and clouds will prevail, but brief overcast periods may make the day feel chilly even under daylight.

Lows tonight will dip into the upper 30s to mid-40s, with Thursday and Friday bringing similar daytime highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Clearer skies by Friday night could lead to colder overnight temperatures, particularly west of I-81.

The National Weather Service advises residents to dress in layers and prepare for breezy, brisk conditions through late week before a gradual warm-up this weekend.
