Baltimore County, Md. – A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a 2024 homicide in Kingsville, prompting renewed attention to a yearlong investigation.

According to the Baltimore County Police Department, homicide detectives arrested Quevin Pixola-Lara in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Jose Caceres-Santos.

Detectives responded Jan. 1, 2024, to the area of Bel Air Road in Kingsville after a motorist reported a body lying along the shoulder of the roadway. When officers arrived, they located Caceres-Santos, who was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Police allege Pixola-Lara is responsible for the killing. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including first-degree murder. Authorities said he is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The Baltimore County Police Department credited the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Baltimore Field Office, the Transnational Anti-Gang Task Force in Guatemala, and the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force for assisting in the investigation, apprehension and extradition of the suspect.

The arrest comes more than a year after the fatal shooting along the Bel Air Road corridor, a heavily traveled route for commuters in northeastern Baltimore County.

The investigation remains ongoing.
