Baltimore County, MD – Detectives are once again asking for the public’s help in solving the 1984 stabbing death of 32-year-old Steven Godwin, whose murder remains unsolved more than four decades later.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, Godwin spent about two hours inside the Corinthian Lounge and Restaurant on Windsor Mill Road on the night of October 18, 1984. Around 10:30 p.m., he said goodbye to his father—who was working at an adjacent package goods store—and stepped outside toward the parking lot.
Moments later, police say Godwin returned inside, told his father he had been stabbed, and collapsed in the doorway. He was rushed to what was then Baltimore County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Detectives can be reached at 410-887-3943.
The renewed appeal is part of the department’s effort to bring closure to families affected by long-unsolved homicides in Baltimore County.
