Baltimore County, MD – Baltimore County Police announced an arrest Monday in connection with a deadly March shooting outside Lansdowne High School that claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy.
According to Baltimore County Police, homicide detectives have charged 18-year-old Challah Haywood with first-degree murder in the March 4, 2025, homicide. Haywood is being held without bond, officials said.
Police said officers responded around 2:40 p.m. that day to the 3900 block of Hollins Ferry Road for a reported shooting in a shopping center parking lot. When they arrived, officers found a 16-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds across the street from Lansdowne High School.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
The arrest marks a major development in the case, which has remained under active investigation since the spring. Baltimore County Police have not disclosed a potential motive.
