Stovepipe Wells, CA – California experienced two early morning earthquakes on Friday, causing tremors felt in different parts of the state. The first earthquake struck 3 kilometers east of Stovepipe Wells with a magnitude of 3.4.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 4:41 a.m. local time, with a depth of 1.4 kilometers. Shortly after, at 3:55 a.m., a second earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 hit 1 kilometer west-southwest of Loma Linda, at a depth of 11.7 kilometers.
Though no immediate reports of significant damage surfaced, citizens across the affected areas reported feeling the tremors. The USGS is actively encouraging residents to report their experiences via its “Did You Feel It?” platform to aid in seismic data collection.
