Austin, Texas – Central Texas is in for a stretch of warmer, drier weather this week, with only a slim chance of showers holding off until the weekend. Skies will clear today east of U.S. 83, while areas west of Del Rio may still see lingering showers before drying out. Afternoon highs across Austin and San Antonio will push into the lower to mid-90s, several degrees warmer than recent days but still slightly below seasonal averages.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s for much of the Hill Country and upper 60s to low 70s elsewhere, offering some relief before gradually warming late in the week. Rain chances remain minimal through Friday, generally at 10 percent or less, but rise slightly across the region by Sunday and Monday, particularly in Uvalde, Eagle Pass, and Del Rio.

Drivers can expect mostly dry roads for the workweek, though outdoor plans this weekend may need a weather check as scattered showers return. Officials advise staying hydrated and limiting strenuous activity during peak afternoon heat, especially for those working outside.

Rain chances stay low until late weekend, when scattered showers could develop, with the next weather update expected later this week.
