Austin, Texas – A brief round of light rain early Tuesday is the only weather hiccup expected across Central Texas as a largely dry and seasonably cool pattern settles in for the remainder of the week and into early next week.

Commuters in Austin and surrounding communities may encounter scattered light rain showers during the morning hours, but conditions are expected to improve steadily by late morning. According to the National Weather Service in Austin–San Antonio, rain chances remain low overall, and no significant accumulation or travel disruptions are anticipated. Partial clearing is expected this afternoon as clouds thin from west to east.

High temperatures Tuesday are forecast to climb into the lower to mid-60s across the Austin metro, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, and San Marcos. Winds will remain light, helping conditions dry out quickly once showers end. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the mid-40s, keeping conditions cool but not cold.

Looking ahead, temperatures trend slightly warmer on Wednesday and again on Friday, with highs reaching the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. Outside of those brief warmups, temperatures will remain within a few degrees of seasonal averages through early next week. Overnight lows generally stay in the upper 30s to mid-40s, especially in outlying and low-lying areas.

Rain chances drop off sharply after Tuesday morning, and no additional precipitation is expected through at least early next week. That dry stretch will support good travel conditions and stable outdoor plans across the Interstate 35 corridor and the Hill Country.

Drivers should still use caution during the early morning commute, as damp roads may briefly reduce traction. After that, weather impacts appear minimal.

Residents can expect a quiet stretch of January weather, with no advisories or warnings currently in effect. Forecast confidence remains high, though updates will continue if rain chances or temperature trends change later in the week.
