Austin, Texas – Warm and quiet conditions are in place this morning, but a shift toward a wetter and more active pattern begins within the next 24 hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s today across Central Texas, including Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, and San Marcos. Light southeast winds between 5 and 15 mph will keep conditions comfortable through the afternoon.
Rain chances begin to increase Thursday, with scattered showers developing across the region. By Friday, probabilities climb to 40–70%, with more widespread showers and thunderstorms expected to impact travel and outdoor plans.
Cities such as Del Rio, Kerrville, and La Grange could see repeated rounds of rain into the weekend, as a more unsettled pattern takes hold. While severe weather is not the primary concern at this time, locally heavy rainfall could lead to ponding on roads and minor flooding in low-lying areas.
Temperatures remain mild through the period, generally holding in the 70s and low 80s during the day, with overnight lows in the 60s.
Storm chances continue into early next week, and additional advisories may be issued as the pattern evolves.
