Austin, TX – A cold, cloudy, and windy day is in store for South Central Texas, with temperatures struggling to climb out of the 40s and low 50s, according to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio.
Forecasters say strong north winds will gust between 30 and 45 mph this morning before gradually easing into the afternoon. Highs are expected to reach only the mid-40s in the Hill Country and upper 50s along the I-35 corridor, while Rio Grande areas may see near 60°F.
The NWS urges residents to secure outdoor decorations and lightweight items, as gusty winds could cause them to blow around. Temperatures will remain below normal through much of the week, though a warming trend is expected by next weekend, with highs rising into the upper 60s and 70s.
A few light rain chances may return by midweek, mainly east of I-35.
