Austin, TX Weather Alert: Freeze Warning With Lows Near 30°F This Morning

Austin, TX – The National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio has issued a Freeze Warning in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday for much of south-central Texas, including Austin, San Antonio, and surrounding counties. Temperatures are dipping to as low as 30°F, marking the first widespread freeze of the season for many areas.

While locations in downtown Austin and San Antonio are expected to remain in the mid-30s, outlying and rural areas will experience subfreezing temperatures. The Hill Country has already seen its first freeze earlier this season.

Residents are reminded to protect the “4 Ps”People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes — by covering exposed vegetation, insulating outdoor plumbing, and ensuring pets have warm shelter overnight.

Conditions will gradually warm after sunrise, with temperatures rebounding into the upper 50s by afternoon.
