Austin, Texas – Cooler, calmer air is settling over Central and South-Central Texas tonight, with overnight lows dipping into the 60s and 70s as clouds gradually clear out.
According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, light winds will help push out lingering cloud cover by early Tuesday morning. Lows will range from a brisk 65°F in Rocksprings to around 75°F in San Antonio and Austin. Georgetown, Llano, and Kerrville will see morning temps near 67°F.
This cooler start kicks off a mostly dry week. Highs will climb back into the upper 90s through Friday across much of the I-35 corridor, with places like Del Rio and Uvalde touching triple digits by midweek. Rain chances remain near zero through Thursday but rise to 50% for parts of the region—including Gonzales, Hallettsville, and San Marcos—by Sunday.
Travelers should take advantage of tonight’s drop in temps and avoid overnight drives through fog-prone areas. Residents should keep windows closed overnight if they’re sensitive to allergens due to dry and shifting air.
A return to stormier conditions is possible by Saturday night. Additional alerts may be issued later in the week.
