Austin, Texas – Central Texas residents are facing another stretch of relentless heat as highs soar to the upper 90s and low 100s through at least next Tuesday. Isolated showers are possible along the Coastal Plains, but most of the Austin and San Antonio region will stay bone dry with only a slim chance of relief from scattered storms.
According to the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio, daily high temperatures will hover between 95 and 102 degrees across the area, with Austin and San Antonio both peaking near 100 degrees for several days. Rain chances remain below 10% for most cities, except for the immediate coastal counties like Cuero, where isolated showers may briefly cool things off early this week.
Communities from Georgetown to Uvalde and Eagle Pass can expect dry afternoons, increasing the risk of heat-related issues for anyone working or exercising outside. Officials urge residents to limit strenuous activities to early morning or late evening hours, stay hydrated, and never leave children or pets in vehicles. Area lakes and rivers will be busy, but those headed out should pack plenty of water and sunscreen.
The heat is expected to persist through early next week, with only a slight uptick in rain chances by Monday. More advisories could be issued if the pattern holds, so check for updates as conditions evolve.
