Austin, Texas – Seasonably warm afternoons will continue across Central and South-Central Texas, but the chance for showers and storms will build late this week and linger into early next week. Highs will remain locked in the low to mid-90s, with some Hill Country spots a few degrees cooler.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, temperatures will stay several degrees above September averages through the weekend. Rain chances are minimal through midweek but climb to 20–40 percent beginning Friday, especially across the Hill Country, New Braunfels, and down toward Eagle Pass and Del Rio.

San Antonio and Austin are both expected to reach 94–95 degrees most afternoons through Saturday before slightly cooler readings arrive with increased cloud cover Sunday into Tuesday. Fredericksburg and Kerrville will hover in the upper 80s, while Rocksprings should hold in the mid-80s.

Drivers should be mindful of brief downpours by the weekend, which could lead to slick roads. Outdoor plans may face interruptions from scattered storms late Saturday through Tuesday, but widespread flooding is not anticipated. Residents are encouraged to keep water handy in the heat and monitor updated advisories for shifting rain patterns.

Showers and storms remain possible into early next week, with the best chances focused Sunday through Tuesday.
