Austin, Texas – South Central Texas is in for another sweltering day, with afternoon temperatures climbing to near 100°F and humid, breezy conditions expected from Austin to San Antonio through Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio, morning clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies by noon, setting the stage for a hot and muggy afternoon. Winds from the southeast will pick up speed later today, increasing the potential for heat stress across the region.

Cities including San Antonio, Kerrville, and La Grange will see highs between 98°F and 101°F, with heat indices making it feel even hotter on exposed roadways and construction sites. New Braunfels and Georgetown residents can expect humidity to intensify discomfort through the late afternoon. Motorists on I-35 and I-10 should stay hydrated, check their vehicles, and avoid outdoor activity during peak heat from 2–7 PM.

For those planning to be outdoors, limit strenuous activities, wear light clothing, and take frequent breaks in the shade. Vulnerable groups, such as children and seniors, should remain indoors with air conditioning if possible. These hot and humid conditions are typical for late July in Central Texas but can still cause heat-related illness if precautions aren’t taken.

Temperatures will remain elevated through the week. Stay tuned for updated advisories as winds may increase again by midweek.
