Austin, TX – South-Central Texas residents will see mostly sunny skies and above-average temperatures this weekend, with highs ranging from the mid-80s to mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Austin-San Antonio.
The agency reported Saturday that warm conditions are expected to continue into early next week, keeping most areas hotter than seasonal averages. While the weekend will remain mostly dry, a shift is expected by midweek.
According to forecasters, rain chances will increase to 20–40 percent on Tuesday and Wednesday as a cold front moves through the region. The added moisture is expected to provide some temporary relief from the heat. Temperatures are projected to dip slightly, with highs trending closer to the 80s in several locations by Wednesday and Thursday.
Cities across the I-35 corridor, including Austin, San Marcos, and New Braunfels, are forecast to hit highs in the mid-90s Saturday and Sunday. San Antonio is also expected to stay near 95 degrees before conditions cool later in the week.
The NWS advises residents to stay hydrated during outdoor activities this weekend and remain alert for changing weather patterns as the cold front approaches.
