San Antonio, Texas – Strong thunderstorms continue to push south through Central and South Texas on Thursday, with rainfall rates reaching up to two inches per hour and multiple Flood Advisories still active in the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, a slow-moving line of storms is producing heavy rain as it drifts southeast, particularly over areas like Rocksprings, Camp Wood, and Uvalde. As of 11:17 a.m., several counties remain under advisories due to localized flooding risks, especially along low-lying roads and near creeks and rivers.

Communities from Fredericksburg to San Antonio should expect street flooding, reduced visibility, and slick road conditions throughout the day. TxDOT urges drivers to avoid flooded roadways and delay travel if possible. In higher terrain areas such as the Hill Country, rapid runoff may lead to flash flooding.

The strongest activity remains west of I-35, but more storms could redevelop eastward into the afternoon. Residents in Austin, Round Rock, and New Braunfels should monitor conditions and prepare for possible new warnings.

Rain chances will taper off later tonight, but updates are expected through the evening as the atmosphere remains unstable.
