Austin/San Antonio, TX – After a partly cloudy start, skies will turn mostly sunny and warm across South-Central Texas today, according to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio.
Temperatures will rise well above normal, reaching the lower 80s to mid-90s this afternoon. Dry weather will hold through the start of the week, with Tuesday expected to be another hot day.
However, a strong cold front will sweep through the region Tuesday evening, delivering the coolest air of the season so far. Behind the front, lows will dip into the 40s by Wednesday morning in some areas, spreading across nearly all of South-Central Texas by Thursday and Friday.
Highs will moderate to the 70s mid-to-late week, offering a true taste of fall before temperatures begin to warm again over the weekend.
No significant rainfall is expected with this frontal passage, though breezy conditions may accompany the cooler air.
