According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, the region will remain mostly sunny and dry through Thursday, with daily highs ranging from 95°F to 99°F across cities including Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Eagle Pass. Widespread rain chances return Friday into the weekend, with a 25–35% probability of showers and storms by Saturday.
In Austin, highs will hover near 99°F through Wednesday, while San Antonio may top out at 97°F each day through Friday. Rural communities like Carrizo Springs and Pleasanton are expected to feel the brunt of the heat, peaking near 100°F. Rain chances begin to climb late Thursday, offering a slight cooldown across the Hill Country and I-35 corridor.
Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Local emergency services warn of increased risk of heat-related illness, particularly for outdoor workers and the elderly.
