Aurora, IL – Police are asking for help to find a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning. The crash left a 43-year-old Aurora man dead on the city’s southeast side.
Authorities said the incident occurred at about 5:19 a.m. at Ogden Avenue and South Farnsworth Avenue. A black Infiniti FX45 ran a red light at high speed and crashed into a grey Honda Civic. The Honda, driven by Ramiro Moreno, had the right-of-way.
Witnesses saw the Infiniti’s driver, described as a Black male in his 30s, flee the scene. He was last seen running north on Farnsworth Avenue. He was wearing a white t-shirt, light-colored jeans, and Nike shoes.
Paramedics rushed Moreno to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Aurora Police, K-9 units, and the Traffic Division investigated the scene for several hours but couldn’t locate the fleeing driver.
The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to contact the Aurora Police Traffic Division or Crime Stoppers. Anonymous tips could lead to a reward of up to $5,000.
