Aurora, IL – Aurora will mark Independence Day with a two-day celebration featuring fireworks and a downtown parade expected to draw thousands of residents and visitors.
The festivities begin Thursday night with a fireworks display set for July 3rd, 2025. Best viewing locations are the Aurora Transportation Center and McCullough Park, with food trucks and DJ performances scheduled at both venues. DJ Suave Smooth will perform at the Transportation Center, while DJ Pena will entertain crowds at McCullough Park. Music begins at 6:00 p.m. and continues until 9:45 p.m., with the fireworks show lighting up the sky shortly afterward.
According to the City of Aurora, shuttle service information will be released soon to help attendees avoid traffic and parking issues downtown. City officials recommend using the shuttle service or reviewing downtown parking options via an online parking map.
Celebrations will continue Friday morning, July 4th, with the city’s annual Independence Day Parade beginning at 10:00 a.m. The parade will start at the intersection of Benton Street and Broadway Street, move north along Route 25, then turn west on Downer Place and conclude at Middle Avenue.
The designated reviewing stand will be located in front of the David L. Pierce Art and History Center at 20 East Downer Place for optimal viewing.
Parking is available in downtown public lots that are not directly along the parade route. Visitors are encouraged to consult the Downtown Aurora Public Parking Map prior to arriving.
