Aurora, IL – A 22-year-old Aurora man remains hospitalized in critical condition after a serious motorcycle crash Tuesday morning, and police are asking for the public’s help identifying a potential witness vehicle.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers and fire personnel responded at about 10:01 a.m. Tuesday to the intersection of 75th Street and Commons Drive for a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV. Emergency responders found the motorcyclist suffering life-threatening injuries. He was treated on scene by paramedics and later flown by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on 75th Street when it struck the side of an SUV turning left from westbound 75th Street onto Commons Drive. The SUV driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Detectives are now seeking to identify the driver of a dark red or burgundy vehicle that was spotted in the area at the time of the crash. Authorities believe the motorist may have witnessed the collision and could provide key details to assist in the investigation.

Police said the 22-year-old victim continues to fight for his life in the hospital.

Anyone with information about the witness vehicle or its driver is urged to contact the Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Division at (630) 256-5330 or by email at TrafficDiv@aurora.il.us.
