Aurora, Illinois — The Aurora Police shared today that the department had been ranked #1 in Illinois for DUI enforcement. This is the third year in a row that Aurora has taken the ranking, and the fourth time in six years.
Aurora Police lead all municipal police departments in Illinois in DUI arrests. The department made 473 arrests in 2024, which was 107 more arrests than the department made the previous year. The arrests were a 29% increase from 2023.
“This isn’t about rankings—it’s about responsibility. Every DUI arrest represents a proactive step toward preventing crashes, injuries, and lives lost,” the Aurora Police Department said on Facebook.
“We’re proud of the efforts by our officers, but even more proud to be part of a community that values safety,” the post continued. “If you’re going out, plan ahead. Never drive impaired.”
