Aurora, IL – Claire Anderson, a standout senior at West Aurora High School, has earned the 2025 Chicago Bears Community High School All-Star Award, a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional student-athletes who demonstrate leadership, character, and dedication to their communities and schools.
Anderson, captain of the school’s inaugural girls’ flag football team, played a pivotal role in its success during the team’s first season. With a 13-4 record, the team secured the school’s first-ever regional championship and advanced to its first sectional tournament. Anderson’s contributions were key to the team’s strong postseason performance, laying the foundation for future seasons. In addition to her football achievements, Anderson excels in multiple sports. She competes on the varsity soccer team, where she has earned two MVP awards, and is a strong advocate for teamwork and leadership within her athletic circles.
Beyond sports, Anderson is an active member of the Blackhawk Marching Band, serving as a section leader for three years and mentoring younger musicians. In academics, she maintains a 3.5 GPA while taking multiple Advanced Placement and honors courses. She is also currently enrolled in AP Literature and AP Psychology. Her community involvement extends to her role as a summer camp counselor at Camp Ondessonk, where she works with youth to develop character and leadership skills.
“Claire’s ability to lead by example and inspire those around her speaks to her exceptional character and dedication,” said Jordyn McFarlane, West Aurora’s girls’ flag football coach. “Her passion for her team and community makes her a perfect choice for this honor.”
As part of her award, Anderson will receive a custom hand-painted football, a gift bag, and an invitation to a future Chicago Bears event. Additionally, the Bears will donate $500 to a charitable organization of her choosing.
