Aurora, IL – A major traffic crash has shut down all lanes of Indian Trail in Aurora on Tuesday, prompting police to urge drivers to avoid the area and expect heavy delays.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of Indian Trail and Aurora Avenue, leading to a full closure from Aurora Avenue to Lake Street. Emergency crews from both police and fire departments are currently on scene working to remove damaged vehicles and debris from the roadway.
Officials say the closure will remain in effect until the area is cleared and safe for travel. Motorists are being asked to seek alternate routes and plan for extended commute times through the west side of the city.
Traffic is being redirected through nearby residential and commercial areas as cleanup continues. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any injuries were reported or how long the closure is expected to last.
