Aurora, IL – Five Aurora businesses were cited this week after failing alcohol and tobacco compliance checks conducted by the Aurora Police Department, officials announced.
According to the Aurora Police Department, officers carried out undercover alcohol and tobacco compliance checks on Monday, Dec. 8, using underage police cadets at nine local businesses. Five locations were found not in compliance with state and local laws and were cited accordingly.
Police identified the following businesses as not in compliance:

- Shell – 320 W Galena Blvd (Alcohol)
- Mayas World – 261 E Indian Trail Rd (Vapor)
- Green Smoke Vape & Tobacco – 444 N Eola Rd #108 (Vapor)
- BP – 2595 Ogden Ave (Nicotine)
Four additional businesses were found to be in compliance during the checks:

- Dragon Smoke & Vape – 1048 N Farnsworth Ave
- La Villita Liquors – 1415 E New York St
- Casey’s – 330 N Eola Rd
“These checks play a key role in helping ensure businesses are doing their part to prevent underage access to alcohol and tobacco,” said Sgt. Lt. Chris McWilliams in a statement released by the department. “We appreciate those who followed the law and will continue to address violations when they occur.”
Aurora police said compliance checks are conducted periodically across the city and are intended to educate retailers while holding violators accountable. Enforcement efforts will continue as part of broader public safety and youth protection initiatives in Aurora and Kane County.
Residents who live near any of the cited locations may notice increased enforcement activity in the area as follow-up inspections and education efforts continue.
