Aurora, Ill. — Yesterday late afternoon, the Aurora Police Department issued a traffic alert for a traffic crash. The crash happened at the intersection of East Benton Street and South Broadway. Last night, police notified residents that the crash was cleared.
Police completely shut down the northbound and southbound lanes of Broadway at Benton Street. Aurora Police alerted drivers that delays would be expected in this area as traffic is slow while emergency crews clear the lanes. The department asked drivers to take alternate routes while this roadway was blocked off.
At around 8:00 p.m. last night, the Aurora Police Department shared an update on the road closure. The Facebook post said that the roadway had been cleared from the crash and Broadway was completely reopened for traffic again.
