Aurora, IL – A bizarre incident unfolded at the Aurora Transportation Center on Saturday night leading to the arrest of an Aurora man.
Eliahias Martinez, 18, was detained after he allegedly pointed a gun at pedestrians and assaulted a man with the firearm. The Aurora Police Department responded to the scene around 7:39 PM, where Martinez was reportedly located near the men’s restroom and found in possession of a handgun.
Witnesses reported Martinez allegedly brandishing the firearm at the train station and using it to reportedly physically assault another individual. In response to these allegations, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Martinez with several felonies, including Armed Violence and Aggravated Battery.
Martinez is now held in the Kane County Jail, awaiting a pretrial hearing.
